Da Nang (VNA) \u2013 DIFF 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival kicked off on 31 May 2025 with dazzling performances by the host team Da Nang and reigning champion Finland. The hosts started a 20-minute performance of 5,000 fireworks set to rock and pop music, including songs Bonjour Vietnam, Titanium and Top of the Rock, with a theme introducing Vietnam on the threshold of a \u00abNew Era on the Rise\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIFF 2025 promises thrills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Da Nang (VNA) \u2013 The 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) is set to return from May 31 to July 12 under the theme \u201cDa Nang \u2013 The New Rising Era\u201d, promising vibrant and surprising displays. On May 28, preparations for the opening ceremony were in full swing at the fireworks site along the Han River. The two teams kicking off this year\u2019s festival\u2014Finland and Vietnam\u2014are working hard to deliver the most impressive displays for the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time, DIFF 2025 will incorporate augmented reality (AR) technology, which allows visitors to interact with Da Nang\u2019s cultural icons in a virtual environment spanning 600,000 square metres and 10 million pixels\u2014an unprecedented experience for any fireworks festival in Vietnam<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VGP | Danang International Fireworks Festival 2024 to welcome new competitors. The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2024) will take place from June 8 to July 13 with the participation of new competitors from the U.S, China, and Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the new participants, this year's festival will see pyrotechnic teams from Finland, France, Italy, Poland, and host Da Nang, Vietnam. The performances will take place in 5 nights (including 4 qualifying nights and a finale night) in the Han River port area, with a grandstand size of about 17,000 seats. Each team's performance time should be around 20 minutes, according to the organizers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da Nang is the only locality in Viet Nam to have hosted a fireworks festival, making it a magnet for the best fireworks producers from around the world each year since 2008. It has been building a \"Fireworks Festival City\" reputation to promote it as a top destination in central Viet Nam and Asia. The DIFF has helped the city win recognition as Asia's Leading Festival & Event Destination in 2016 and 2022 by the World Travel Awards.<\/p>\n

The total number of visitors to the central beach city of Da Nang in 2023 is estimated to exceed 7.4 million, doubling the figure in 2022 and equivalent to 93 percent of the figure in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the municipal Department of Tourism has reported. Of them, the total number of international visitors is estimated to reach more than 2 million, a four-fold increase year-on-year and equivalent to 62 percent of the figure in 2019.<\/p>\n
