Temples and shrines such as Kiyomizudera Temple and Kinkakuji draw lots off attention from visitors, as do the bamboo groves of nearby Arashiyama. Stay in a traditional ryokan, take a dip in a rejuvenating onsen, and enjoy the seasonal changes of cherry blossoms and brilliant autumn foliage. Kyoto's magic is only a short bullet train ride from Tokyo. Beyond the city lie Kyoto Prefecture's many attractive rural areas. Heading for Kyoto, the old imperial capital. Visit the old town of Arashiyama with its temples and shrines, Togetsu-kyo Bridge and the star attraction is the famed Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, the magical sounds of nature. Visit Heian-jingū Shrine, modeled after the ancient Imperial Palace; Stop by the Kyoto Shikido Honpo shopping district and then return to Toyohashi for an overnight stay.

Arrive in Yamanashi. Visit Oshino Hakkai Ancient Village to rediscover the ancient Japanese traditional architecture, admire the poetic scenery and discover many unique customs and habits that have been kept for over a thousand years. Listed as a World Heritage Site for its unique architecture, this small town is now mainly dedicated to local crafts. With its thatched-roof houses, tall grass and watermill, Oshino Hakkai stands out from the other villages that surround Japan's highest mountain; Shop at the Fujikawaguchiko Shikido Honpo complex. Return to the green valley and take a lake cruise on Yamanaka to see the beautiful scenery of Mount Fuji.

Mount Fuji is the high point of a visit to Japan. An endeavor famed for its natural beauty and cultural significance, getting to the top of Mt. Fuji is an experience unlike any other. Sunrise on Mt.
