The city of Quy Nhon, north of Ho Chi Minh City, which will host its inaugural round of the ABP Aquabike Grand Prix of Binh Dinh, Vietnam from 22nd to 24th March 2024 and the F1H2O Grand Prix of Binh Dinh, Vietnam from 29th to 31st March 2024. Quy Nhon is a coastal city and capital of the Binh Dinh province of central Vietnam. Both Grand Prix will be staged at the breathtaking Thi Nai Lagoon in Binh Dinh.

Union Internationale Motonautique | Established in 1922, the Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) is the world governing body for all Powerboating activities. It is fully recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and it is a member of the Association of the IOC Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF) for which UIM President, Dr. Raffaele Chiulli also serves as President. The UIM has 64 affiliated National Federations. The main disciplines of the UIM are: Circuit (F1, F2, F500, F4, Formula Future), Offshore (XCAT, Class 1), Pleasure Navigation, Radio-controlled boats, Aquabike (Jet ski), Solar & Electric, MotoSurf

Two-time World Champion Jonas Andersson is the team’s lead driver and has confirmed that Estonian rookie Stefan Arand will become his team-mate for the new season. Vietnam will host round two of the championship at the end of March in Bình Ðịnh Province but wanted to be more closely represented throughout the year and the agreement has been made between Andersson and state officials for Team Sweden to be rebranded as Team Bình Định, Vietnam.

This major announcement will see the Asian powerhouse following in the footsteps of Abu Dhabi, China, Sharjah and Qatar and putting their name in a team’s title. Vietnam will also host the opening round of the UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship in the run up to the F1H2O event and is working on other exciting projects. The country is set to become one of the most important venues in the world of powerboating and aqua biking.
