You might not get snow or reindeers, but Christmas in Singapore is as big as any other celebration during the year. Christmas in Singapore is a big celebration that gives us all another excuse to do what we love most—Eat and shop.

The famous shopping belt on Orchard Road is spectacularly lit up every December to ramp up the festive mood, and serves as a blazing reminder to hit the malls and indulge in shopping sprees. Meanwhile, Christmas spreads and Yuletide menus pop up at restaurants across the island, giving a festive twist to an already impressive dining scene.

As one would expect from Singapore’s melting pot of different cultures and religions, Christmas in our city comes with its own unique Asian twists. Family get-togethers and bouts of feasting are common, and traditional dishes like turkey tend to get a good dose of local flavour, with Asian seasonings and herbs such as ginger and chilli.

Every Christmas, the famous shopping belt on Orchard Road transforms into a dazzling winter wonderland of stars and festive decorations, leaving you with no doubt that 'tis the season to be jolly. Visitors to Orchard Road are greeted by Yuletide-inspired stretch of festive lights and charming decorations, promising photo opportunities galore. The lineup changes up on annual basis, with edition boasting live music, arts and craft workshops and themed amusement rides for the entire family.

Christmas Wonderland

An extravaganza of lights, sound and spectacle, Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay is a great place to experience Yule-themed festivities. Besides the dazzling lights and Christmas decorations, this month-long event features an array of attractions, carnival games and spectacular light displays, spread across multiple zones.

Highlights: St Nick’s Square, the Whimsical Windmill at Gingerbread Grove and the ever-popular Mistletoe Alley — home to an array of Christmas-themed gifts and craftwork.

Marina Bay Countdown

The annual countdown party at Singapore’s iconic Marina Bay is a beloved highlight of the year-end festive calendar. Join thousands of others to usher in the new year with music, live performances and one of the most spectacular fireworks shows in Asia. Besides the spectacular fireworks, this year’s celebration includes The Great Bay Fiesta — a celebration that boasts carnival rides and circus performers — live music concerts and Share The Moment, a light projection show beamed onto iconic buildings of the Civic District.
