Phu Quoc Island
Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam. Phu Quoc and nearby islands, along with the distant Tho Chu Islands, are part of Kiên Giang Province as Phú Quốc City. Phu Quoc's gleaming white sand beaches have earned it the nickname «Pearl Island», but the island's environmental conservation efforts and cultural heritage deserve as much attention as its picturesque sand and surf. Fishing and agriculture remain primary industries, and more than half the laid-back island has been protected by a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2006.
Home to fish sauce, pepper, and pearls, Phu Quoc offers both luxury and local life, with clean water by day and clear skies at night. Son Island
Son Rai Island also known by the familiar name Hon Son Island. Located on Ha Tien Bay, between Nam Du archipelago and Hon Tre Island in Lai Son commune, Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province, about 55 km from Rach Gia City to the west. Hon Son is now a favourite relaxation option.
Fishing is the main occupation of the local people. There are also shipbuilding, shrimp and fish processing as well as fish sauce production. Tthere are spiritual places such as Lai Son Temple, Temple of Ba Co Chu, Cao Dai Holy House, Hai Son Pagoda... Hon Son has 7 conjoined peaks, Ma Thien Lanh is the peak. The highest mountain with an altitude of about 450 m above sea level, on the top of Ma Thien Lanh there is a flat rock, with beautiful surrounding scenery, so it is called San Tien, the Fairy Playground. Hon Son also has 5 beaches and 1 wild rapids, in which Bai Bang has the most beautiful scenery, many leaning coconut trees shade the white sand, deserted and calm beach. Suoi Tien is the only stream with clear water flowing from the top of Ma Thien Lanh right down to Bai Bang, which is a precious source of fresh water for the people on the island. [By daohonson.com]
Nam Du Islands
Nam Du Islands is an archipelago located in the Gulf of Thailand, southeast of Phú Quốc Island. It constitutes An Sơn and Nam Du Commune of Kiên Hải District, Kiên Giang Province, Vietnam. The archipelago consists of 21 large and small islands. The largest island is Hòn Lớn (sometimes referred as Nam Du) Island with a peak of 309 m. Islands have tropical monsoon climate; the rainy season lasts from April to October every year. Nam Du is becoming an attractive destination for backpackers heading to the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.
Cat Ba Island
Cat Ba Island is the largest of the 367 islands spanning 260 sqkm that comprise the Cat Ba Archipelago, which makes up the southeastern edge of Lan Ha Bay in Northern Vietnam. Cat Ba island has a surface area of 285 sqkm and maintains the dramatic and rugged features of Ha Long Bay.
Cat Ba Island has become the adventure-tourism capital of Vietnam, and many of the activities advertised are nature-based. Visitors can kayak and take boat cruises through Ha Long Bay and the Cat Ba Archipelago, hike through the national park, mountain bike around the Island, spend time hiking and swimming on Monkey Island just offshore... or even go rock climbing and deep water soloing on the limestone karsts in Lan Ha Bay. With so many things to do, Cat Ba Island is slowly gaining popularity as an alternative to the crowded Ha Long Bay Town.
Cham Islands
The Cham Islands constitute a group of 8 small islands of Quang Nam, which form a part of the Cu Lao Cham Marine Park, a world Biosphere Reserve recognized by UNESCO, in the East Sea in Vietnam. The islands are approachable from Cửa Đại beach. The islands are also recognized as Vietnam's national scenic site. The Cham Islands are under the administration of Tan Hiep Commune of Hoi An city, Quang Nam Province. The occupation of the people of the islands is mainly fishing. Cu Lao Cham Islands' ancient landscape offers many sand beaches, forested hills and the sea. Facilities for camping, swimming and scuba diving are available. The corals and marine life are an attraction in these island waters.
Archaeologists claim that Cham Islands were first settled by Cham people about 3,000 years ago.[citation needed] However, business contacts were established with other countries about 1,000 years ago. The Cham islands were used for transhipment to the mainland by the Cham. Many architectural monuments dated to the 18th and 20th century are reported, which include the Than Yen Sao shrine built in 1843 at Bai Huong, and the Hai Tang Pagodas built in 1753 on the western hillside of Hon Lao. Small monuments, dikes, and basins to grow rice on terraces are also seen in the interior forest areas.
Ly Son Island
Ly Son previously known as Cu Lao Ré, is an insular district of Quang Ngai province, lying off the South Central Coast of Vietnam. The district covers approximately 9.97 sqkm of land on the Cù Lao Ré volcanic islands, consisting of two off-shore volcanic islands in the East Sea, and a few islets. The main island, Ly Son has three prominent craters, the largest of which is Mount Thoi Loi. Hydrothermal waters on Ly Son provide heat for the local power plant. The secondary island is known as Little Island and is also well populated.
Remains of the pre-200 C.E. Sa Huỳnh culture have been found on the islands. The Cham used Ly Son as a transhipment base. Xo La well, one of the wells used to provide fresh water for ships, still remains on the shore of the main island and is still in use. Ly Son is also known throughout Vietnam for its production of a special variety of garlic, although coastal sand mining to support its extensive cultivation has led to significant erosion.

Binh Hung Island
Binh Hung Island also known as Hon Chut, Hon Ty is a small island in Cam Binh commune, Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam. The island is located only one km from the mainland. Binh Ba Island

Phu Quy Island
Phu Quy is a small island located about 100 km south-east of the city of Phan Thiet, Vietnam. The island is home to Phu Quy Lighthouse situated in the north-west of the island and an abandoned military bunker on the eastern coast. During the French protectorate, the official name of the island was Pulau Cecir de Mer. Vacationers can taste fresh Phu Quy's specialty such as sea urchins, king crabs, lobster, and snails.
Although Phu Quy is an isolated island in the middle of the ocean, the discovered traces show that the island has been explored hundreds of years ago. On the island, there are three National Monuments in Phu Quy Island: Linh Quang Pagoda, Van An Thanh and the Temple of Princess Ban Tranh. Linh Quang Pagoda is dating more than 250 years old.
Con Dao Island
A tiny archipelago off the southern coast, only a small number of travellers wind up in Con Dao. Though the trip requires extra effort, those who commit to the journey are rewarded with some of the country's most blissful beaches and best snorkelling. Much of the island is covered by the Con Dao National Park. Its dense jungle will give you ample chance to uncover a paradise of your own.
